About Myself

I am born and brought up in Dabeerpura (Old City), Hyderabad. Since childhood teaching was my passion. I work sincerely for whatever I commit. Apart from my research in earthquake engineering, I spend some of my spare time in propagating human values.

My Family

I got married to Sarala Sree in December 2000 and we have two kids. The elder son, Ganesh is 19 years and the younger son, Dinesh is 16 years. My father (Late R Om Prakash) was a goldsmith and my mother (R Sharada) is a housewife. I have one elder brother (R Praveen Kumar), two younger brothers (R Prashanth Kumar and R Pramod Kumar) and two sisters (Uma Maheshwari and Rama Maheshwari). All are well settled.

EERC, IIIT Hyderabad

I treat EERC as my extended family. I am fortunate enough to have such a workplace where things are smooth and without any pressure. I enjoy working in IIIT Hyderabad. I owe a lot to my colleagues and co-workers/students for creating such an environment.

My Hobbies

Reading books, watching movies and listening to music. In school and college, I use to play cricket and table tennis. Our Polytechnic cricket team was the winner of the state championship (1991). I was runner-up in table tennis tournament (2000) in Mitaka Residence, Univ of Tokyo.

Produce 100 sincere and dedicated teachers.
